Dear Friends,
Another wonderful holiday season is just around the corner and we have lots in store this year! From gift giving ideas to a magical zoo of wild lights, the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary is the place to visit with your family this holiday!
Give the gift of Membership or a Donation in honor of someone special!
Do they really need another holiday fruitcake? Click here to give them a membership or donation in their honor and they will receive a lovely holiday card letting them know how much you care! You will receive the warmth of supporting the animals of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary!
Holiday Dieting (or not...)
Our new Black Bear cub, Henry, has already given in to the fresh foods of the season and has put on 30 lbs. While the public bear enclosures are being enhanced to support our youngster, we will keep you informed of his progress. Visit here for the latest updates.
A special thanks to the over 3000 people that visited our website to vote for a name for our furry new friend. "Henry" (51%) was the overwhelming choice; in second place was Theodore (29%), followed by Zephyr (19%). If you're on our home page take a moment to participate in our new poll. We want to know how often you visit the zoo sanctuary each year! Vote Now!
Where did the birds go?
After months of planning and a generous donation from the Bosack Kruger Foundation and Friends like you, we will break ground Monday on the new Aviary Exhibit. During construction our feathered friends will be temporarily moved. We will keep you updated as construction progresses.
Wild Nights and Holiday Lights !
The City of Folsom is seeking the public's help in creating an enchanted forest of lighted trees as part of a new "Wild Nights, Holiday Lights" event that kicks off Dec. 2 throughout the Zoo Sanctuary.. The Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting organizations, businesses and families to adopt a tree in an enchanted forest of 80 trees. Those who adopt a tree will be asked to donate LED lighting and decorations, and to decorate their tree. If you are interested call (916) 355-7285.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback please do not hesitate to contact me.
Warmest Regards and Best Wishes,
Jeff Boone, President Friends of the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary
