Stop by the zoo at lunch time on the second Thursday of every month for a special animal encounter. You could get to see an outreach animal such as a snake, ferret, or skink up close. Every month a different animal will be featured.

Fee: Regular zoo admission

Run With Nature & The Wild Way (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

Run with Nature 10k/5k & Wild Way

Folsom’s 27th Annual Run with Nature features all new scenic courses, starting and finishing at City Park. We’ve created a whole new event that is fun and healthy for the entire family!

Enjoy our new course over the Folsom Crossing Bridge and down the beautiful American River Parkway. There is something for everyone: 5k and 10k chip-timed runs, a non-competitive 5k walk, a FREE ½ mile youth run through the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary and this year we have added, The Wild Way!

The Wild Way course takes you on a 2+ mile adventurous run, over grass, gravel, pavement, and dirt; up hills and down hills; over fences, under barricades; through fields, along chutes; through the Zoo, up flights of stairs; and over logs spanning a mud obstacle. Take it on single-handedly to challenge your skills, or take the pack approach with your whole family and help each other through the course.

After a great race, come enjoy the post-race party, awards, raffles and refreshments at Folsom City Lion’s Park!

CHIP IN for your pet's ticket home - Pet ID tags, licenses and Microchips help lost pets find their way home. Please be sure all contact information is kept current. Held once every month, 6.00-8.00pm on the fourth WEDNESDAY. 

Please - Dogs on leashes / Cats in carriers

Fee: $5/rabies vaccination, $20/microchip (licensing also available.)
