Friends Volunteer

If you would like to join in the fun of hosting Folsom City Zoo Sacuary fundraisers and events please become a volunteer, please contact Nancy Coffee at 916-502-4422 or via email.

Zoo Docent

Applicant should enjoy interaction with the public and learning about the animals living at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. You will receive training from Zoo Staff to assist with educating the public.

Requirements:

	At least 18 years of age
	Have an active interest in animals and people
	Complete docent training course
	Pass background security check
	Interview with Zoo Education Staff
	Complete Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary Volunteer Application

Duties:

	Guide zoo tours
	Participate in outreach presentations, classes and events
	Serve as Helpful Answer Person (person available to answer zoo questions from the public on busy days)

Zoo Keeper

Applicant should enjoy caring for animals and participating in tasks necessary to provide a safe, healthy environment for animals.

Requirements:

	At least 16 years of age
	Proof of current tetanus vaccine
	Work a minimum of 16 hours a month
	Pass background security check
	Complete Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary Volunteer Application

Duties

	Animal care
	Diet preparation
	Exhibit enhancing
	Grounds cleaning
