Visit the Zoo
Our animals would love to see you. Come and visit us anytime!
The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is located at 403 Stafford Street, Folsom,
California, in the heart of the City of Folsom (map
to the zoo). Operating since 1963, the zoo has been the home to
hundreds of animals from squirrels and chickens to tigers and bears.
Each year the zoo welcomes thousands of visitors in a simple and unassuming
park like environment. With close to 100 animals and adjacent to Lions
Park (featuring tables, BBQ’s and children’s play areas)
and the Folsom Valley (mini-scale) Railway, not to mention City Hall,
Dan Russell Arena, and the Folsom City Library, we know you and your
family will enjoy your visit.
THINGS WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Please Do Not Feed the Animals
Our animals have specific diets and nutritional needs and we request that you
please not feed them. Because some animals are under strict diets for medical
reasons, it is vitally important that this policy is followed.
Animals Do Not Like to Be Teased!
For the welfare of our animals, we ask you not to tease, whistle or yell at
the animals at the Zoo. And, please do not throw food or anything else into
the animal exhibits.
No dogs or other pets are allowed on zoo grounds, except service
dogs.
No bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skateboards, rollershoes
or rollerblades.
A Picture is worth a thousand words…
We encourage you to photograph or videotape any of the animals, but you must
stay safely behind any barriers and remain in the public areas at all times.
If you are a member of the media and would like further assistance to photograph
or videotape animals at closer range, please contact the Zoo's management
at zoobooth@folsom.ca.us or
call (916)351-3527.
